Ashley Coppin began her dance journey at a small competition studio called The Dance Workshop. At age three she started performing and loving the stage. These performances included The Nutcracker, recitals, and multiple competitions around the country. Tremaine, Starpower, NYCDA, and Dance Makers Inc (DMI) are all competitions that inspired her to keep doing what she loves. At the DMI competition Ashley was awarded a scholarship to The Keith Clifton Summer Program in California.
Ashley started classes at Tampa Bay Ballet where she discovered her passion for ballet. As doors opened and opportunities arose, Ashley became a Trainee with Tampa Ballet Theatre and made her way to be an Apprentice by 2016.
Ashely has attended summer intensives at Tampa Bay Ballet, Sarasota Ballet, and Orlando Ballet. She has performed many classical and neo-classical ballets including Alice In Wonderland Beauty and The Beast, Coppelia, Dracula, Giselle, Swan Lake, and The Nutcracker. She has performed leading roles such as Alice in Alice in Wonderland and Dew Drop in The Nutcracker.
Currently Ashley is excited to see what this coming season at Tampa Ballet Theatre has in store and plans to continue her dancing career for many years ahead.
