Calder Taylor was born and raised in a small town in New Hampshire, right next to the Dartmouth college community. In high school he decided to further his ballet education by boarding with Maine Central Institute in Maine, were he danced and learned at Bossov Ballet Theater under the leadership Of Andrei Bossov. After school Calder went on to dance with Ballet Theatre of Maryland and became a principal there. The roles he starred as include Arthur in Excalibur, the Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, Prince Ivan in The Firebird, Rothbart in Swan Lake, the Djinn in Aladdin, the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland, Dr. Coppelius in Coppélia, and Drosselmeyer in The Nutcracker.
Calder's first season with Tampa Ballet Theater he danced as Albrecht in Giselle, the cavalier in the Nutcracker, and the prince in Sleeping Beauty. Calder is delighted to be dancing another season with Tampa Ballet.
