Originally from Annandale, Virginia, Alyssa Taylor received her early training at the Metropolitan Ballet Threatre under the direction of Susan Blazey and Virginia Ballet Company and School under the direction of Tania Rousseau and Oleg Tupine. Upon graduating high school Alyssa attended the University of Oklahoma where she earned a BFA in Ballet Performance. While at the University of Oklahoma she was able to work with Donn Edwards, Zippora Karz, Jeremy Lindberg, Kathleen Tracy, and Bruce Wells. She performed in many ballets including Concerto Barocco, Serenade, Les Patineurs, and Act 2 Swan Lake.
After college Alyssa joined the Ballet Theatre of Maryland where she performed many roles including Carabosse in The Sleeping Beauty, Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Dew Drop in The Nutcracker. Alyssa was also Ballet Theatre of Maryland’s wardrobe mistress creating original costumes for many ballets including The Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella.
In 2017 Alyssa and her husband moved to Florida to dance with Tampa Ballet Theatre. She has performed as Myrtha in Giselle, The Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Carabosse in The Sleeping Beauty, and in the pas de trois from Swan Lake.
